Watch Sharks coach Todd McLellan get angry about last night’s game

Apr 15, 2012, 2:08 PM EDT

San Jose Sharks coach Todd McLellan is a pretty mild-mannered guy most of the time. After seeing his team drop Game 2 to St. Louis 3-0 with a finish that saw fights galore, he couldn’t keep his feelings from coming out in the post-game press conference.

When asked what he thought of Game 2, he didn’t hold back.

“Well it depends what you’re talking about. If you’re talking about the instigator, the sucker punch, the blow to the head, the broken nose… What do you think I thought of it,” McLellan asked. Yikes, have at it coach.

As for the fights at the end of the game where men were men and dropped the gloves? Check out the carnage as well as Justin Braun‘s bad decision to drop the gloves with Roman Polak.

Sucker punch?! After Marleau’s punch to Crombeen’s face earlier? After Burns pulls a Jon Jones-style elbow to the side/ back of Scott Nichols’ melon? After Galliardi’s forearm to MacDonald’s head THAT BROKE HIS HELMET?! Come on. I understand it’s a post-game presser. I get that you are coaching a team and you have to support your guys. Whatever sucker punch your talking about was as a result of the complete disrespect that your team showed the Blues during the game. Was it Clowe or Thornton that tried to pick a fight with Steen? Really? That’s rich.

Enjoy the golf, Todd. Hopefully it’ll help you relax your righteous indignation. Your team reaped what they sowed.

Marleau’s hit was a retaliation if you’re talking about the post whistle left jab. Golf talk already? Long way to go. McLellan made a big mistake not having guys on the ice at the end that could handle themselves. I wish we could have seen the sucker punch so we could really comment on it.

@eggserino – the most eloquent and 100% right on comment I have ever heard on this board, ever. Legendary.

BTW your announcers suck. It’s Sa-BOAT-ka not BOT-ka. Let’s see if the Sharks can win a fight in minnow pond after getting knocked the eff out this weekend.
