As a guy from the chicagoland area I dying to know, is everyone that has commented here a Hawks fan like me? Just trying to see if theirs a bias towards the Hawks. As for Shaw, he needed to tone it down in game one, and already has a reputation as being a pest. Almost Carcillo-esque, but Andrew isnt at Danny’s level as far as stupidity. Just hope Shaws brief reputation doesnt lead to a suspension, with the hearing i think its all but guaranteed he is. What he did was definitely a penalty, but not 5 and a game misconduct +. You just dont go there. I think if the goalie is out of the crease he is just like everyone else, unless he’s covered the puck and whistle blown

Yeah…so if things don’t work out on the desert, Smith can ply his trade on the west coast where a theatrically motivated gang of pretenders like the Canucks will welcome him with open arms. If the league needs to look at anything, they should be addressing embellishment as a detriment to the game! While anyone with a set of functioning eyes can see the extent to which inconsistent and biased tendencies in officiating harm the marketability of the hockey product, the drift toward shameless acting and exaggerated pain borrowed from all European sports has ruined our game. Fine the actors, and charge them ACTRA dues commensurate with their unwarranted and exaggerated pay cheques…for that to happen, Shanahan would have to grow a set; not likely now he’s become just another corporate yes man?

No $hit! He’s okay??! I thought he’d have seriously injured his neck flinging himself around like he did. This guy is a joke. He’s out of the net all of the time and initiates contact himself most of the time. The Toews penalty was laughable and I’m sure this garbage will continue because this officiating crew is piss poor. What a bunch of spineless idiots they are as they huddle up by the penalty box to see if Smith gets up before they actually call a penalty. Then they go with charging!?? Really? Either way, Yotes can only score on the PP to go Hawks! Win it in 5.

Anyone who watched the game could see Shaw tried to avoid crushing him. The contact was occidental helmet to helmet, or shoulder to helmet. You can even see Shaw tried to move or prevent injury. Honestly bad call last night! Maybe two minutes for interference but even that would be weak call. Can wait for Shaw to drop who ever comes after him Tuesday.

Yeah a 50cal. Head shot and laid there until he was sure Shaw was out and a major was assessed. What a clown. Why was Tazer called for a penalty? Smith came out of the crease to make contact, and Tazer was called? This guy needs some snow when ever he can be accommodated, then stick Hayes in there to camp out in the crease kinda like Big Biff used to do to Big Lu with the Nucks and really get into his head.
