The Kings’ Twitter got to have more fun at the Canucks’ expense again

Apr 14, 2012, 11:28 AM EDT

After the uproar caused by the Los Angeles Kings’ official Twitter account with their celebratory Game 1 tweet, seeing the Kings take Game 2 thanks to Jonathan Quick‘s monster night in goal and Dustin Brown‘s three-point night made us all curious what they’d do for an encore.

The Kings social media gurus decided to take things in a bit of a different direction this time around and played off the “controversy” they fired up after Game 1.

Chances are that if you’re offended by this tweet, you’re part of the problem and might need to sit the next one out. Cool off with a lemonade perhaps.

Facts being what they are still managed to disturb and upset the most unhinged Canucks fans on Twitter, but for the most part, this one’s a lot more fun and playful and one that ensures those who were outraged before can just sit there and seethe this time around. Appealing to a team’s fans is never a bad thing.

Geez, has any team gloated this much after a 2-0 series lead in the first round? Sheesh…

What gloating? The line about everyone outside of BC was great and whoever found it offensive needs to find a better use for their time. This is just having a little fun with that whole situation. What’s wrong with that?

Their tweet of the night was “is Lapierre reciting a monologue? He hasn’t stopped chirping for 5 minutes.” It’s nice to see they didn’t pull in the reigns after the ‘controversial’ tweets during and after Game 1. And I love them thanking all the super hostile Canucks fans for following them.

This is such a non story, except for highlighting that the guy running the Kings Twitter has a sense of humour. Check out the Canucks Twitter, Derek talks just as much good humoured smack as he does … its friggn Twitter!

Gonna look awfully stupid if they lose the series. That’s not to say they will lose but it has been 2 freakin’ games. Anything could still happen. Shooting your mouth off like this is just stupid.
