I hear ya, Jrock. Matinee games for the B’s have not been a good thing this year…I’m a bit…trepidatious about today.

Dale hunter is right… This was a pretty good match. So sad the officials had to give the bruins some crap power plays. Would have been a different story if capitals weren’t playing a man down for most of the 2nd period.

Here’s hoping they make up for it today.

Game 1 was all over the place. The Bruins played a fantastic first period (first five minutes especially) and looked like they were gonna run away with the series. I can’t give too much credence to the shot differential because of the ridiculous amount of time the Bruins had on the PP in the second. If you take out the second period, the Caps actually outshot the Bruins in the 1st, 3rd and OT 15-13 (not really a significant difference, but puts the total differential in perspective).

In the third at even strength, the Caps really outplayed the B’s (see: 9-3 in shots). I’d expect the Caps to stay out of the box; if they can do that, then it could be a great game. Both teams showed how good they can be at 5-on-5 in the first (Boston) and third periods (Caps).

It’d be great for the Caps to get the win today to make this a real series…love playoff hockey. Game 7′s in Boston and Nashville would be awesome to see.

One thing the Caps have going for them today, Boston was an awful afternoon team this year….. well under.500

This game will be a wicked battle. Ovi is gonna come firing on all cylinders and looking to be the catalyst after he was dominated in game 1.

Good luck to the real Boston Bruins fans and not the bandwagoners after last year… I think you’ll definitely see a lot more offense this game than the last one… I just hope we can steal one from you guys and make the series interesting
