A missed call by NHL officials/linesmen? No way! NHL officials never make mistakes…. /sarcasim

The NHL has no credability when it comes to how its games are called on the ice. Penelties are never called the same all game, missed calls are rampant as are phantom calls even in the playoffs, and far too many games a being decided by what the refs do or don’t call. There shouldn’t be a third team on the ice, but for some reason the NHL refuses to do anything about it………..

I thought so as well.

But there was at least a little rumbling that Quick may have embellished a little, which is the only reason I didn’t include it, whereas the other two were blatant and damn near inarguable.

But you’re right, if the Kings lost by 1, that would be a whole other story.

Well, make it three obvious blown calls that resulted in three goals.

Vancouver wiped out Jonathan Quick before scoring the first goal in game 1–no call, goal stood. Thankfully for the Kings it didn’t impact the outcome (except for stats and the final score) but it’s very disheartening to see so many major, obvious blown calls so early in the playoffs. Hopefully they’re getting them out of the way now.

DISCLOSURE: Not a fan of either the Kings or Canucks, just reporting the facts.

I get that. But it’s not “they maybe could have called hooking on that rush.” They’ve missed two calls that directly resulted in goals in games that went to OT and one by the margin of one goal.

Of course it’s not solely ref’s fault the Pens or the Hawks lost. It’s also not time yet to sound the “REFS ARE BAD” alarm and go to Defcon 1. It is, however, still enough to watch with concern going forward.

Exactly. This is only “newsworthy” since it’s the playoffs, but in 7 games so far they’ve missed 2 calls? If that was me out there I’d be missing two calls a minute.

I thought this article was about the Hawks/Yotes game? As a Hawks fan, It sucks because it resulted in a goal and eventual loss. But, refs miss calls. More times than not when I dispute an offsides call Ill replay it in slow motion ( something refs cannot) and 9 times outta 10 if not more, theyre right. Toughest job in sports. The Hawks had numerous oppurtunities to clear the zone and failed. Can’t blame it all on the refs
