I’m a lifelong Leafs fan and I know many others. None of that is true.

Toronto is the biggest market in Canada, so obviously the media is going to focus on them. I get that other Canadians don’t like the fact that during the season CBC and TSN are all Leafs all the time. However, that has nothing to do with entitlement or arrogance, it’s just business.

They want to hog the spotlight yet paint themselves as the victims of media barbs, however deserved. Think the Boston Red Sox pre-2004, except instead of lovable losers, they are Rex-Ryan-esque punching-above-their-weight impudent brats.

Vancouver is not quite there, but they and their fans are starting to develop the same sort of arrogant swagger and belief that they deserve to be loved and why-is-the-media-so-mean-to-us whininess.
