Boston’s Krejci “day-to-day” after getting nailed with pane of glass (Updated)

Apr 13, 2012, 12:32 PM EDT

Some big news out of Boston from CSNNE.com’s Joe Haggerty — according to Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli, center David Krejci is listed as day-to-day after a pane of glass fell on him while celebrating Chris Kelly‘s game-winning goal on Thursday.

Here’s the incident in question:

Chiarelli also said no determination has been made yet if Krejci will be available for Game 2.

Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe reported that Krejci missed today’s practice, the only “healthy” Bruin not in attendance. (Shinzawa also notes that in addition to getting nailed with the glass, Krejci was clipped in the face by Jay Beagle during the first period.)

Krejci, 25, is Boston’s first-line center and finished third on the team in scoring this season with 23G-39A-62PTS.

Update (12:40 p.m. ET): Krejci told reporters he thinks he’ll be able to play.

And since Krejci is OK, we can laugh about this:

If Boston loses Game 2, the fans of Boston will go after the people who did this.

      • baywatchboy - Apr 13, 2012 at 2:53 PM

    • homelanddefense - Apr 17, 2012 at 1:03 PM

if that truly was your intent then I apologoze. Its hard to read sarcasm on the internet.

HAHAHA, too funny….i’m sure he’s okay

  5. govtminion - Apr 13, 2012 at 12:54 PM

Word fail me. I honestly have no idea how to respond to something this absurd.

…Wait. Is that Steve Bartman in the front row pounding on the glass?

  6. solador78 - Apr 13, 2012 at 12:59 PM

From the video, it looks like it was Max Pacioretty in the crowd, banging on the glass.

The Garden really should get that fixed.

Shanahan has announced that pane of glass will have a $2,500 fine bu no suspension.

It was the secret service, they were trying to hit Thomas but Krejci

    • mj6rings - Apr 13, 2012 at 1:05 PM

but Krejci got in the way

  9. dolanster - Apr 13, 2012 at 1:32 PM

I’ve never understood the apes in the front row that bang on the glass, but it happens in every arena. I wish places had the nads to announce that an usher will through you out for doing it.

    • nothanksimdriving123 - Apr 13, 2012 at 1:59 PM

dol, I am sure you meant an usher will “throw” you out, but yes, I do agree with you about the glass bangers. It’s been said that a sign of mental illness is repeating the same action over and over and expecting a different result. Well, since opposition players pretty much never react to fans’ glass banging, what is it that those fans expect to have happen?

      • kitshky - Apr 13, 2012 at 3:16 PM

No kidding, although my personal pet peeve is the moron who stands up and waves while on his cell phone because the pucks in his corner.

      • dolanster - Apr 13, 2012 at 4:30 PM

Yah, sorry. THROW you out. On your ASS. Glass bangers are noob idiots. All it would take is a pre-anthem announcement that doing it gets you tossed and it would stop. Bugs the crap out of me when you’re watching on TV and some mook is jumping up and banging the glass whenever the puck is within 30 feet of him.

Out buying supplies for Dec 21st 2012 Im guessing with all the other stupid people

    • govtminion - Apr 13, 2012 at 2:22 PM

…what in the hell are you talking about?

  11. ballistictrajectory - Apr 13, 2012 at 2:12 PM

I think is was a retaliatory hit for Lucic putting so many players through the glass. Typical. The glass is afraid to actually man up and take on Lucic directly.

  12. cameltoews - Apr 13, 2012 at 2:29 PM

Can’t bang the glass at MSG but people still find a way.

      I’ve got it…”K”aberle!

      No…wait…

Thank God habsman….you’ve had so many posts lately that are salient and coherent that we needed another one of these high quality posts to know that you hadn’t been abducted by aliens.

I can’t wait for the next one that has high quality riddles including letters like “SP” or “CC”.

It would be nice if people stop making half assed attempts at gifs. You’re already going through the trouble, at least make the framerate somewhat watchable.

As a Boston everything fan, all I can ask is, “How many titles would we have if we could just stay out of our own way?”

    Hope K is oKay.
