As promised, the Los Angeles Kings addressed last night’s anti-Canucks tweets from their official Twitter account, and they sort of said they were sorry.

Via Lisa Dillman of the LA Times comes the following statement from Mike Altieri, the Kings’ vice-president, communications and content: “We encourage our digital team to be creative, interactive and to apply a sense of humor whenever possible. To anyone who found this offensive, we certainly apologize.”

Gotta love the “to anyone would found this offensive” apology. Translation: “To any one of you killjoys that take life way too seriously, we’re sorry. You must be a real hit at parties.”

Booo! Don’t apologize! Have a sense of humor, NHL!

…it’s just the Canucks, everyone else is making fun of them, why not the Kings via Twitter?

Meanwhile the rest of Canada is still waiting for an apology from the Canucks for enabling the joint American/Swedish/Quebecois synchronized diving team to masquerade as professional hockey players.

Green? Spoken like a typical Canuck who uses cardboard tied to a broomstick to shovel half a centimetre of snow once a year.

The ground out here is brown, son.

Dont apologize, it was a tweet from a media guy and it wasn’t even that inflammatory. It’s like people are looking for ways to be offended nowadays.

How DARE you assume it was a media guy!!! It could have been a media woman. I mean womyn. I mean person who identifies with other than the male gender.
