I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rask moved if Thomas has another great run. Khudobin is in the wings and is also very capable. Rask would bring someone very good back to Boston, and I’m sure a bunch of teams would love to have him.

I’d personally like to thank Dennis Wideman for being caught out of position which allowed Chris Kelly to be WIDE OPEN ON THE LEFT WING and score the game winning goal.

Chiarelli will absolutely sign Kelly. How can he not? He’ll have enough cap space to do it. My question is…what happens with Rask? If Thomas has another mind blowing playoff run,will Tukka be cool with a backup role for one more year? Thomas is 38, they may hold onto him for one more, but Rask is certainly their future.of course, this is all moot if Timmy tanks it.I think alot of this depends on the Cba, which is up this year. If it stays the same, the B’s will have a ton of cash under the cap to spread around.

Now that the butterflies are out of the way, let’s hope the Gahden crew can improve the ice conditions for game 2. Both sides missed golden opportunities because the puck would not stop it’s superball routine. If that game were played in mid-season it would have likely been 5-4, and I’m not picking a winner for that one.

All told Timmy only got tested a couple of times, nice to get the shutout. Holtby is pretty sharp… We still miss seeing Keith Aucoin in Providence. The B’s passed on him and I always thought that was a mistake.

If the momentum of last night’s game is any indicator, the Caps will score a few goals, but will not win many games. The Bruins spent a good 45 minutes in the Caps zone and for long stretches, the Caps could not catch a break.

Was a little scared tonight. I can’t believe I was watching washington trap. holtbey played great and he’s a little scary defanetly could have a halak factor. Luckily we have thomas on the other end

The caps may play boring but to beat the bruins they have to play this way. The bruins thrive off impatient teams and have proved in many games. If u don’t play solid sound fundamental hockey, U might score a couple but the bruins will hang 5 on u.

The bruins lost most of their games by 1 goal. So in order to beat them you have to play patient and keep gettin shots and traffic and when the bruins rush u have to get back.

about holtby: He played a solid game. But the bruins did not get any bounces their that they thrive on. Holtby gave up some terrible rebounds on pucks he should have covered or gotten the puck outta te crease. He’s got kind of a Thomas style but we will see. I see every game being tight unless washy tries to go all offense which could be dangerous but may be their only chance if they go down 0 2

I can almost guarantee that Chiarelli won’t sign him. Kelly’s having a fantastic year, but I’m betting the B’s won’t suffer the cap hit that Kelly will want for his contract.

Great hockey game!!! I hope Caps blew their load tonight because if they play like tonight rest of series, they will be a tough out. Winner of this series is going to be bruised up a bit heading into 2nd Round.

Boring way to play — the Caps looked like the Irish national soccer team, content to hardly ever rush and try to capitalize on a late mistake. They’re not strong enough to take the physical beating they took tonight for a series. Bruins will crack Holtby like an egg sooner or later and pour some in. Thomas didn’t even really break a sweat tonight.

Horrible game all around. The Caps were choked offensively and the Bruins displayed zero patience (to be fair Wash sniffed out the cycle often). The analysts on this series were all idiots. Holtby=NHL caliber but is inexperienced. The Caps play the Bruins the hardest second to Montreal I don’t care what their record is.

If the Bruins don’t sign Kelly then Chiarelli has had a lobotomy. They are something like 21-0-0 when Kelly scores this year and if he isn’t a “Bruin” then I don’t know what is.
