Wait a minute, this whole time the NHL has been making it sound like every game and every round will be televised. If I read this correctly, the author said every game in the first round will be televised. Which is it?

I get why everyone is excited by this. But I live in the hockey wasteland of Lexington, KY. I have extended basic cable included in my rent - and would have to spend upwards of $600/year for a box and the insane amount of cable to get NBCSN. So - I'm either stealing a feed or have been for all intents and purposes shut out of the playoffs. And NBC has lost my eyes, which would have been on as many games as possible. I'm sick about it.

NBC needs to:
1) Make sure that NBCSN is actually an accessible channel. Why do I get CNBC and MSNBC but not NBCSN? Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. If they want this station to rival ESPN, it can't be on a higher cable package.
2) Make these games available online to purchase through Game Center. I'd pay for them, and I'm tired of cable companies refusing to enter the 21st c. They think it makes them more money but it doesn't. Work out some sort of a deal with the cable companies if necessary.

Love NBC's approach to this. Not sure where they are getting the channel info, but at least for my area, the HD channels for the NHL Network, CNBC and the NBC Sports Network are missing. All of them are available in HD for me here in Bellingham. I can't wait to sit in front of my TV and flip from channel to channel

Keep in mind that local blackout rules still apply, however, because the Regional Sports Networks still get to broadcast the games in their home markets. So any Rangers or Devils fans in the NYC market who have Dish Network (which doesn't carry MSG), yeah, you're still screwed.

And if I want to watch the Caps / Bruins series here in Western MA without listening to the braying jackass known as Jack Edwards on NESN, I too am screwed.

Absolutely love what NBC is doing with their revamped sports networks. They are scattering the start times so that you could watch the third period of every playoff game. It's sweet! Also their sports talk show is what sports center used to be before they disowned hockey completely.

Law and order has been exactly the same for what 10 years? It's old news and now sucks. Sorry to disagree with the author
