Everyone says he’s the best goal scorer, as a way to discredit his overall game. I find it funny because yes, he is the best goal scorer in the league. I think he has proven that for the past three seasons. Last time I checked, scoring goals was the only way you can win a game…everyone neglects to comment on his terrific two-way play which is some of the best of any center in the league. He has the makings of being a captain and is already a leader for his squad. I’ve never once seen him whine to a ref or complain to the media. I’ve also watched him stick up for his teammates and has no problem getting in someone’s face if they’re getting a little too aggressive. Oh, and he never takes a dumb penalty. So don’t say “goal scorer” everytime there is a post pointing out his level of play. He’s going to be the best player in the league here in a few seasons…that I think is a fact. He hung neck-and-neck with Crosby on his SECOND NHL SEASON on a much worse team than they have now…so STFU people.

That being said, sucks that they didn’t make the playoffs. Tampa will need to dig deep next year if they want to make a stab at the league’s best. They’ll need to actually care about winning EVERY game, not just the big ones against big opponents.

Great player. Much tougher than i thought. I couldnt believe he came back in Game7 vs the B’s last year after the puck to the face. No one in any other sport comes back from that, football included.

Does it count as carrying the team if the team isnt very good?

I’d say he was doin his thing (and doing it very well), but you cant say youre carrying groceries just because youre dragging them across the pavement. You actually have to lift them up off the ground to “carry” them.
