Setback? Daniel Sedin not practicing today

Yesterday, Daniel Sedin practiced with the Canucks and it sounded like he’d be ready for Game 1 of Vancouver’s first-round series against the Kings.

“He’s 100 percent,” said brother Henrik. ”It was good to see him out there. It’s been a while. He looks good. We’re happy. If he wouldn’t have been out there today, he would have been a real long shot for Wednesday. That’s a good sign.”

Today, however, Daniel’s not on the ice for practice.

We’ll follow up if the Canucks have any comment, but if he’s not able to practice, we’re not sure how he can play tomorrow. (And if he can’t, he probably wasn’t faking.)

Sedin missed the last nine games of the regular season with a concussion.

Update: Sedin skated after practice with the Black Aces.

    Yep, 100% wilted.

Obviously he’s faking to get Keith suspended longer… *cough*

I’ll wait to see an update before I jump to any conclusions.

    probably just precautionary

Yes, he did skate after the regular practice with the other extra players, and while he didn’t do anything major, he looked ok. He likely just needs a little more time to get back.

As per AV: “We’re just following the protocol.”

Also: “It is not a setback.”

Yep, no setback … Daniel checked out the geniuses on the PHT comment section and realized that people were on to him for conspiring to get Duncan Keith suspend so he asked AV to let him sit this one out.

        Clearly…

Nothing to worry about… Not cheering for the Canucks but still get 100% by game 1. Playoffs are more exciting when stars are at their best.

Wait. Weren’t you the one offering up free medical advice in the comments?

Pot meet kettle. Kettle meet pot.

YES, DANIEL SEDIN IS A GOOD MAN

On the eve of battle here in Vancouver, we LA Kings fans are admittedly “not” displeased at hearing this news of Daniel, even though we do hold the Sedin brothers in very high regard. Nonetheless, we’re now so “utterly” confident of victory that we couldn’t care less if the Canucks iced 20 x Sedin brothers tomorrow night ! Yes siree, the fur-trapper Vigneault and his controller Gilles are going to learn a lesson about humility, trust me … and it’s all going to start in less than 24 hours time !

Or for LA, concern turns to optimism
