If Daniel is truly symptom free then there is no reason to keep him out of Game 1. The fact of the matter is for some guys it takes a couple weeks and for others it takes longer to get back to normal. That he didn’t continue in the game like some players out there or suit up for any of the following games plays a role in recovery as well. The Canucks have handled the situation pretty well and I’m sure they will be monitoring him closely going forward.

Why keep him out until October if he’s just as healthy after two weeks?

There may be no much thing as a “minor concussion” – although that smacks of the kind of hysterical tripe one often hears when information about something is scarce – but there is certainly such thing as a major concussion and this was clearly not one of those.. making it minor by comparison.

Anyway I think we all know that there is no blueprint for making a full recovery from a head injury and no guarantee that there will never be problems or setbacks down the line. That being said Sedin’s recovery to this point has been cautious and deliberate compared to what we generally see in the NHL so I’m not sure what you’re hoping to accomplish with this kind of wild speculation.

it’s good to see Daniel recover like this and make his way back into the Canuck’s lineup … he and his brother are “decent” folk and they play hockey the way it was meant to be played … nonetheless, they are now enemy # 1 and so we Kings fans are very happy for Daniel’s return, as the last thing we want to hear are excuses from Canuck Nation after we take care of business …

As for recurrence, the Canucks have been pretty cautious – Daniel sat ten games after a ‘minor’ concussion before skating with the team. Not sure how they could be any more careful without shutting him down for the season..

Perhaps the Canucks just didn’t want a Nathan Horton, Marc Savard, Chris Pronger, Jonathan Toews, etc, etc, etc situation on their hands.

A lot of “gutsy” players have cut their careers short acting like a head injury was no big deal. On the plus side I guess they earned the good graces of keyboard warriors like “tru2joelu4eva”…

Now give your head a shake. The Blackhawks should be thanking the league and Sedin’s face for letting them rest their star player down the stretch guilt free. It didn’t help the Canucks whatsoever, the tiptoe theory is ludicrous, and if you don’t believe he had a concussion then fly to Vancouver and we’ll see what happens when I unsuspectingly elbow you in the face with a piece of plastic strapped to my arm.

Anyone that plays the “he wasn’t really hurt” card is just grasping at straws.
