How is he a ‘strong’ skater? When does he display that PWF mentality? The guy carries himself in a way that inspires no one. Tell me why he can’t play the way he did in the playoffs? Does he need to be reminded? JVR is a frustrating player to watch. Thankfully the Flyers are deep.

Couturier 19, Giroux 24, Schenn 20, Wellwood 22, Read 25,Simmonds 23, Vorachek 22, and good Defense 4 of 6 starting are 27 or younger……Why would you be concerned with draft picks and not winning now? Idiot!!!!

JVR has been hurt pretty much all year when he was in the line up. As good as their offense is, they do slump at times. I think a healthy JVR is a huge asset as he was in the playoffs last year. He is very strong skating to the net and at his age he is should still be getting stronger. Give him a chance.

Solid signing. 4 years is reasonable. I do agree with my fellow Flyers fans that Carle has to go. He is way too soft with the puck. TOs. Shots being blocked from the point. When his shots do hit the net, it seems like he has no intention of scoring. I think the Flyers are higher on him than I am. It’s the same way with JVR. Both those guys need to go. For those who thought we would be missing JVR have seen this team doesn’t need him. We shall what happens to both but I’m glad that Homer was able to lock up Grossmann, who is at the top of his game, for the mid-term future.

Good move, once again wish we could have done this move for less. We don’t have the money for Carle anyway. We may see us trade Bob and JVR for cheaper players and picks. Maybe those two for Franson, Reimer and a pick. We are taking on too much salary these days, lucky we still gain a bit of money with the keep grossmen lose Carle thing but not enough to keep everyone

Holmgren as a player,…not the smartest. But, I give him high marks (along with the scouting dept.) as a GM. The Grossmann trade was brilliant. The re-signing, just as brilliant.

They have to let him walk. The only thing he is good at is pissing me off. He can’t clear pucks, he is an average skater and if his shot is not blocked, it is wide. Someone is going to dearly regret overpaying him. His poor play is usually masked by his better partner.
