And they've made the playoffs once, with leftovers from Milbury's mess. After 6 years of rebuilding, at what point do you scrap the people at the wheel? Obviously, you'll have some good players when you are in the race for the top pick annually, that doesn't mean things are improving though.

Wang is one of the worst owners in sports, and the Islanders will remain a joke as long as they keep "staying the course"

It's Wang who really needs to go... I respect the loyalty he has to players and his front office but it cost the Isles at least 5 years with the Milbury era. I think it's Garth who should be on the short leash and Capuano gone now. Capuano has failed time and time again to get this team motivated with important games on the line and the late game failures should be inexcusable with the players he puts on the ice in final minutes of big games with a lead. He also doesn't shorten the bench when he should and fails to see when a change in who's playing with who needs to be tweaked. For example it took him 70 games to try Bailey with players who have some skill and to see Grabner needed to be demoted. He also tends to put the slowest d-men on the same line as well as almost never plays Streit when Tavares is on the Ice instead opting for the slow no offense Eaton and Staios pair.
I just hope Snow lets Eaton, Staios, Jurcina, and Pandolpho walk and possibly find someone take Reasoner. Try to sign a real top 4 d-man( Suter ) go after Justin Schultz and give deHaan, Donovan, and Ness a real shot to make the big club. And if all goes well Strome will be playing for a shot at a Calder and just maybe Brock Nelson will stick too( if signed). I won't even comment on goalies right now... Lol.
As for the next coach I like Wilson even though he failed with the Leafs. He has a offensive system I think JT would thrive under... Sadly I'm expecting it to be another unproven guy in Doug Weight though... Although I like his fieriness behind the bench.

Makes sense to stay the course with Garth as he has done a solid rebuilding job. Cappy needs to be on a short leash if he comes back next year. This team should have been better this year as the home and home sweep of the Pens reflected. What killed them was very poor October and November records (8 & 10 points respectively), coming up flat in key games later on and failing to put away teams and giving up leads late too often. If the team starts to go in the toilet again next fall, Garth should not hesitate and should be ready to make a move. Mike Haviland would be my choice.
