Esposito’s modern individual mark of 15 stands unchallenged. The Blues duo has matched the Hawks’ 1970 mark of 15 (all of them, of course, by Espo). And the all-time NHL record of 22 shutouts by George Hainsworth in the 44-game season of 1928-29 remains one of the all-but-unbreakable records that is worth remembering when talking about shutouts.
