Until they win the cup they will be looked at a really good team that could never pull the trigger, look at the buffalo bills. And they made it 3 years in a row to the superbowl the Canucks have only gone once, hardly impressive it doesn't matter if you make the playoffs year after year. Look at the Utah jazz they made the playoffs 19 years in a row and they are not considered a great team. Your Canucks have been great at choking instead of winning. That's what they have been elite at.

Its called the hardest trophy in sports to win for a reason, its hard to win. So many things have to fall into place for even the most talented of teams to win it all. No one's crowing about the Vancouver Canucks, no one's celebrating anything they havent won, and no ones being an unreasonable moron except you.

They're recognized as a model franchise from a business point of view with fans all over North America. They've been a consistent winner year in and year out with Jack Adams, Selke's, Hart, Art Ross, and Presidents Trophy's along the way and got to within one game of a Stanley Cup.

Again, no one's celebrating anything here, *were* the ones who got our hearts ripped out. You guys (and yes you because despite your capital letters youre actions speak a lot louder than your claims to not be a Canuck hater) act like we think they're the greatest team of all time.

You do realize that we notice there's no Cup here right? No one understands that more than long suffering Canucks fans, you dont need to tell us ... but to try an pretend they've done nothing, and are a team of chokers comparing them to the Capitals is moronic, tiresome and says something about you. (i don't know what it is but trust me .. it aint good0

... and the Canucks have been part of the 29 EVERY year you say they've been elite! That's my point.

Everyone on this site knows I'm NOT a Canuck hater AT ALL...

I AM a hater of those who constantly except NOT reaching a goal that they have been MORE than talented enough to achieve.

That's unacceptable. Keep making excuses if it makes you feel better.

Yep - if 'almost' makes you so proud, now you can go kiss your sister.

Sad really.

Maybe the fans mimic the simple satisfaction of the Canuck players, where almost, is good enough.

Enjoy!

you must be hard to please

when i think of elite teams i think of consistency.. as in consecutive post season appearances. Vancouver is one of them.. probably 2nd or 3rd behind only Detroit and Pittsburgh in the last 10 years. other than that one hiccup year when they missed the dance, they've been an elite team since the Bertuzzi Naslund days

30 teams bud!.... only 1 wins it all. to say the 29 teams that did't win are failures is complete ignorance.

So one game within a Stanley Cup is the same as folding like a cheap tent in the second round (usually against a supposedly inferior opponent). Got it.

Only way Canucks deserve to be called elite and rid themselves of negativity... is to actually finish a season as Stanley Cup Champions.

Until then, they're just a good team to get past in the playoffs and nothing more.

Same with the Caps. Show, Flash, Out.
