Watch Ryder embarrass the Oilers’ defense

Mar 29, 2012, 9:30 AM EST

At one point during this play, Michael Ryder was surrounded by three Edmonton Oilers, including defenseman Jeff Petry who initially stood between him and the net. That wasn’t enough to stop Ryder this time:

That goal gave Dallas a 1-0 lead and they eventually won 3-1. Those two points gave the Dallas Stars the Pacific Division lead, although the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks are each trialing by just one point. Dallas will play in Vancouver on Friday before traveling to San Jose for Saturday’s key matchup.

The Oilers need to use their #1 pick on a defenseman this year. I’ve seen dead people play better defense.

Come on Petry. You are making you’re dad look bad.
