It’s not as if the Oilers have been playoff contenders the past couple years anyways. Hall is a talented young player; get him fixed up so he can play for many years to come.

Since the choice was so close between Hall and Seguin as it was, one would think that something like this would have caused the Oilers to take Seguin if they were aware of the problem.

Then again, they may have known and just decided that it wasn’t a big enough concern to cause them to skip him in favor of Seguin. Likely we’ll never know.
