1) Yes, I think he may actually get there.

2) Hard to believe this is the same kid that Barry Melrose thought wasn’t ready for the NHL-level game and didn’t want to use in games.

Don’t worry, he’ll probably get at least 4 when he comes to Toronto. The place will probably be cheering him louder than they’ll be cheering the Leafs.

Something about the ‘dead puck era’ and the idea we’re returning to it makes me shake my head. Maybe hockey wasn’t meant to be a high-scoring game night in night out and no amount of rule changes will ever change that.

Considering he’s been playing for a team who has iced a patchwork, AHL defense all year and a horrible goalie, all while knowing Stevie Y has a bevy of options in net this summer and has already made moves to refurbish the D, he’s likely not TOO upset. Sorry to have to piss in your Cheerios but this season is an aberration.

Stamkos could have had 4 goals tonight. He got robbed by both Thomas and the crossbar fairly late in the third. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Can’t believe he’s only 22

Best part about this story is that Stamkos’ goal totally will mean NOTHING AT ALL–his team will still be out of the playoffs. I’m sure Stamkos himself would give back 30 of the goals to have a better overall team around him.
