What exactly have the Bruins "got away with"?
I am assuming you are referring to the Chara hit because there hasn't really been anything else. If you didn't notice the league sort of took responsibility for that play by CHANGING EVERY RINK IN THE LEAGUE.

Maybe a slew foot by marchand against pittsburgh but he fought right away (didn't turtle) and he got the max fine. What have the gotten away with?

Do you remember when Pacioretty was asked if the Bruins are dirty "No. They play a certain way and I think that’s why they’re successful... "To some extent, I wish we played a little more like them. Maybe not as much as they do, but they’re definitely an intimidating team to play against. They have so many guys who can step up — I’m not talking about fighting — I’m talking about physical."

http://bigbadblog.weei.com/sports/boston/hockey/bruins/2012/01/12/p-k-subban-max-pacioretty-say-bruins-arent-dirty/

Here is what Subban said
“They’re in your face, you know what I mean? They’ve had a lot of success over the year. They’re Stanley Cup champions, and they’re playing some good hockey this year. Whatever they’re doing, they’re doing something right. Whenever you play them, you know they’re going to be in your face, they’re going to finish their checks and they’re going to work hard.

But yeah, Habsman maybe you should ignore the truth and put your "SPIN" on it because you know better than the players you route for.
Je m'appelle Randy. Je ne parle pas Francais. Merci.

peeper,

I've got a lot of time on my hands? Your posts are like reading War and Peace.

Nice try at the "spin." Bruin fans are good at pointing a finger in the other direction in order to divert attention from their cowardly play.

No team in the league has gotten away with more crap in the past two years than the Bruins, and Greg Campbell should have been awarded the MVP last year. Name another sport that would have a person dispensing discipline while having a son playing for one of the teams in the league?

Sorry, but I don't think the Bruins gutless play is going to go unpunished this spring. But I could be wrong, Shanahan does after all report to Gregs daddie Colie.

Geesh- you have a lot of free time on your hands. Hope you enjoy watching real teams play in april, may and June. Also - again the ONLY fan bases that think the Bruins have "incidents" are Montreal and Vancouver. It's kind of Funny. I don't hear Rangers, Pittburgh, Nashville, Detroit, St. Louis, Philly, Jersey, Ottawa, San Jose, Chicago... you get the point. Real teams. complaining about how the Bruins get away with so much. They don't. Marchand walks a line that he crosses sometimes, but if you are telling me Subban, Pacioretty and Emelin don't straddle that line too, you are fooling yourself. You are gonna whine about Lucic jabbing a guy in the face after the whistle who nutted him, but it's perfectly ok for Subban to slew foot (elbow then turtle -remember Krejci) or for Hall Gill to take out peverley's knee - Emelin to run someone who doesn't have the puck -then turtle! or Pacioretty (who I would like if he wasn't hab) to hit high and from behind.
The Bruins; like EVERY OTHER Team has had some plays that have warranted suspensions and they have received them. A face wash - jab after the whistle while your guy turtles does not warrant a suspension. IT's called hockey- if you run your mouth you and then hide, someone will punch you. It also shows that you know just about nothing about hockey. Campbell doesn't have anything to due to handing out suspensions nor did he last year. HE COULDN"T. But yeah keep blaming Greg's dad, shannahan, and your non french speaking coach for your team being terrible - that is exactly what your pathetic GM and owner want you to do. thanks for playing.

They have a great chance of repeating if Shanahan turns a blind eye to cheap shots and sucker punching like Gregs dad Colie did last year.

Somehow I don't see that happening. Just too many "incidents" over the past two years involving the Bruins to ignore any future garbage. The spotlight is directly on them. Good luck with that.

Hate to say it but it will more than likely be Thornton again. I guess it depends on the matchup- Thornton is a hell of a hockey player, but his skills don't necessarily translate to Playoff hockey. That being said; we all saw the boost he gave them last year, I expect Claude to handle it in a pretty similar manner. It won't be Rolston; he is too valuable on the PP and Paille is an important penalty killer, but with Kelly, Peverley, Bergeron and Marchand and Campbell it makes Paille a bit more expendable. As much as I think it's unfair; I think Thornton plays a nice motivational role sitting. From an effort and heart standpoint - who deserves to be playing more than he does? if you can't get up for it with that guy sitting, you don't deserve to play.

I also disagree with the sitting of Paille. He is an outstanding penalty killer. But as much as I can't stand the inconsistency of Poulliot, he is hot right now and they have to ride him during this streak. When he cools off, send him upstairs.
Last I heard, the Bruins aren't counting on Rask for the rest of the season or the playoff run. Khudobin will be the backup goalie in the playoffs and he has played well in his two starts since recovering from his injury and maybe he'll get the call before Turco.

I wonder why Claude waited so long to re-pair Seidenberg and Chara. Together, they could be the best defensive pairing in the league. At least they played like that last May and June when it counted. There is nothing wrong with using Ferrence and Boychuck as the second pairing and McQuaid and Zanon can get minutes as the third pairing.

Looking forward to the playoffs.

I dont think they can go all the way (odds were against them anyway) without Horton. He adds so much size and toughness to the forwards. Teams dont want to play the top line when he and Lucic are right.

Although the current match ups would create a good path for them to get to the East finals. From what I remember of the standings they would get Ottawa then Florida in the first two rounds. Pitts, NYR, and Philly would have to play and knock each other off. The Bruins would only get one of those teams before they got to the cup

Based on the lack of info about Horty, I hope it's not another Savard situation. But I'm surprised at no news on Rask.

Make each of them earn their playoff ice time, starting with Caron. If he wilts, pick another.

It may come down to whoever fits their line combination best.

For a laugh? I actually started typing 'Rolston' to answer your question, but he's played pretty well since coming over at the deadline. Very tough call actually. Maybe have the three resolve it via a best-of-three game of rock/paper/scissors on the next episode of 'Bear & The Gang'? Winner is on the playoff roster, losers get taken out back and beaten up by The Bear and Rancourt?

Agreed. Still will be curious to see who sits during the playoffs...>Rolston, Caron, or Paille. Team is starting to play with an edge, finish their checks and forecheck more agressively. I did like how they played in their last game against the Rangers and hope to see that as the benchmark should there be a series against them.

I don't know if I like their chances at a repeat, as good as the Rangers and Penguins have looked. But I'm sure looking forward to finding out.

Has there been any update on Rask or Horton's injuries?
