Yes. This is what I keep saying. I truly don’t know what the hell they were thinking. Hell, if we’d have won the cup there still would have been a riot. That’s just what happens when you invite that many people to have a giant drunken block party (and of course have a wildly insufficient number of police on hand to keep order). The mayor and the police chief should be ashamed.

(Just let me preemptively add: No, this in no way diminishes the blame that ought to be placed on the rioters themselves).

Maybe it’s because ESPN’s coverage of Canadian content is pretty garbage considering they’re… you know… an American network that most people in Canada don’t get.
