Dale Hunter system revolves around great center play, which the Caps dont have. It could be really different with Backstrom in the lineup here guys, he is that important.

I am glad I did not pay $150 for ticket last night, because if I did I would have been like “Goon” to get to the ice and beat the crap out of the Caps blueliners. Instead I watched it from the TV and wanted to reach through and grab one of them! This was not Ovi’s fault. As I have said all year, we need to a complete overhaul of the D-men on the Caps – they simply cannot clear the puck when it is necessary! And the passing game from the D to the neutral zone is horrible – how many turnovers last night? Hunter: go look at the game film!

After the Caps let in the first goal, they were clearly a team trying not to lose… instead of a team trying to win. A really sad performance to be sure, and I don’t think it can be better summed up then what Alzner said.
