Sedin drove into Keith with his shoulder and up into his chin from his blind side. This from a player who can skate around with a dozen fresh eggs in his gear and never break one most games. No call from the ref so Keith lost his temper and drilled him.
Everyone knows Sedin would never drop his goves ! He hands out cheap shots and has no problem slashing opponets on a regular basis, and skates away....who me ? what did I do ? His own brother never came to his defense, always letting someone else to fight their battles.
Live by the sword....Die by the sword. If your going to dish out hits to the head, you better expect to get one back.
Canucks fans sound like a baby nursery at feeding time, and always blaming everybody else for their loses.
Their fans burned their own city after losing the Cup and blamed the Police ?????
Chicago had over a million people downtown for their Cup parade and not a single arrest was made, just happy fans who celebrated.

Check the stats, the Hawks don't take many penalties, they just score goals.....maybe the Canuckleheads should try that next season. Because they won't win this year either. A bunch of candyass whiners.

As soon as Keith gets back (or now), get that letter off his chest. Although he's nowhere near as good as casual fans think, he's one of the Hawks' top two defensemen. They can't afford to lose him for five of the remaining seven games. But, yet again, he finds a way to hurt the team. That's not how a captain or alternate captain behaves. But on the bright side, he can't turn the puck over from his couch.

I agree with what you said except the Marchand play being "borderline". Have you seen the clips recently? Kesler went barreling into Clutterbuck, skating and then ducking right into his knees! God damn if that's not at least as bad as Marshmonts "clip" then I must be crazy. Marshmont is as "clean a player" as Keith is according to NHL law so I don't understand your reasoning.

Keith went Matt Cooke style into D, Sedin and no hockey fan can agree with that.

Well despite your unimaginitive trolling, of course a five game suspension isn't going to make the injury to Daniel Sedin any easier to take - why would it? Hell, unless the Blackhawks end up facing the Canucks in the first (or a subsequent) round no suspension to Keith is going to balance things out for the Canucks.

I think you could make a couple arguments as to why Marchand got as many games as Keith.

First of all Keith is a former Norris trophy winner who is a huge part of an important franchise. Marchand is a good young player (much as it pains me to admit it) but nowhere near Keith's calibre. Taking him away from a Bruins team that was demolishing opponents at the time is nowhere near as severe as taking Keith away from a team that is in tough to take fourth place in its division at the end of the regular season.

Secondly not only is Marchand's reputation far worse than Keith's, while the Blackhawks have been playing very clean hockey for the most part this year the Bruins were simply begging for a message to be sent by Shanny for most of the year - their game is to play over the line and they got away with it until the rest of the league said enough is enough (the Lucic hit on Miller) and gave Shanahan his marching orders.

Is it fair, not really. But that's the league we follow.

Well, you're just being silly if you're still pretending Marchant's play was just "borderline". That said, I do actually agree to a degree. I don't think it is equal. Keith is essentially a clean player though. He has virtually no history beyond this hit. That's why the suspensions are equal despite Keith's actually being the worse hit.

I'm a Bruins fan so thumbs down all you want, but how the hell is this equal to Marchand's borderline clip of Salo? I'd say this is even more predatory and a direct hit to the freakin head. From the precedent set I have no idea how this isn't more than 5 games. Maybe Sedin doesn't have a concussion?

Nothing too notable there, apart from the team admitting it was bad or he lost his cool. The one part I thought odd though, was Sharp's rallying comment. He made it sound like he was talking about rallying behind Daniel, not Duncan.
