No I get that but the Wings suck on the road. 16-20-3. I don’t want to start on the road. And if they were to fall to 6 that means they are playing bad and I just want them playing well going in. I don’t care where that is honestly. If they are struggling it’ll be over fast no matter who they are playing.

would that be so bad? Look at the matchups, we’re not getting 1st anymore, out of the question ( barring a absolute freefall by st. louis )

So either we get 4th, and have to play nashville, a perennial cup contender (anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves, ESPECIALLY if Renne is on fire ) , albeit with home ice

we get 5th, have to play Nashvlle, and lose home ice advantage

or we get 6th, and we get a Dallas or Phoenix or San Jose, who’re all arguably weaker teams, who’ll all be tired from the stretch run, and who the Wings all have good records against in the season
Plus then it sets up a second-round matchup against a St. Louis squad that i’m convinced the Wings could beat (and Nashville and Vancouver can beat the crap out of each other )

Honestly, i’d take a 6 seed and Dallas over a 4 seed and a Nashville team that has ‘Cup or Bust’ written all over it

I say don’t rush anyone, keep them sidelined one more week and have them all return with 5 games left to get their legs back, what’s the rush right?

Health is great but they need to play better more consistently. They played well in SJ and came out flat against the Caps which cost them the game. Played well at times last night but gave up way too many quality chances. Conks actually saved them a point.

Lidstrom back will be HUGE.

Exactly… as long as they are coming back healthy, this just makes a well rested team for the long haul.

Nashville getting Radulov and some of the other teams in the West getting hot/healthy (like the Blues) the Wings are going to need all the rest and healthy bodies we can get!

These injuries are killing Det, however, I would rather have them now and be healthy in the playoffs.
