Khudobin is the playoff backup (I know they put Tuuka on a timetable for an April return, but I think he’s done for the year, I don’t think we see him in pads again until September).

davebabychreturns, I don’t think anyone thought Turco would be different or better than last year. At the point when Tuuka went down, he really was the best possible option for them. Hutchinson, the Providence backup is not NHL ready yet, they didn’t seem to have many other choices.

Right now Turco appears to be a practice goalie, an emergency in case Timmy goes down, and someone to open the door at the end of the bench for the players. If Khudobin can play a couple of games in the next couple of weeks I think we see him and Tukka backing up Thomas in the playoffs. I wouldn’t bet against Thomas but given his history in proving people wrong, hope that many people count him out…
