DeBoer isn’t complaining about the fights…he was referring to how Tortorella was complaining about the Devils have their “goons” on the ice. He mentioned how Tortorella didn’t have any problems starting tough guys in NJ earlier this season, but some how had problems when the Devils did it in NYC. That does go with DeBoer’s “short term memory or hypocrite” argument.

Wow, DeBoer is a complete idiot. If his players don’t agree to the fights, the fights don’t happen. The players on BOTH SIDES were all talking about it well before it happened. If the players didn’t want to fight, they could have decided not to, and then there’s be either roughings or unsportsmanlikes on the Rangers–a power play to start the game. But instead, the Devils agreed to fight.

And so what if Tortellini may have changed tactics? Is he supposed to be predictable? And not only that, the brawl made for DAMN entertaining television.

what do the caps have to do with a rangers/devils brawl..err..game? ovie scored last night. congrats. now, go back to that nice “ovie being all captain-like” article and enjoy it while you can. the caps are going nowhere in the playoffs, same as always.

I see what your saying as well and that’s a valid point. However, if that’s the case (that Torts wanted to keep Dubinsky from hurting himself) he should’ve never started him in the first place (since he got the last option) and just throw a 3rd d-man out there or whatever. It looks bad (for the player) when it happens with a player who has chirped (incorrectly as regards to Clarkson) before.

I see what you’re saying, but Dubinsky has an injury that prevents him from fighting. That’s why he didn’t face off with a guy more his speed in Carter.

Torts told him to move. Dubinsky fighting carter is a waste of time for Dubi. Carter showed he is a better fighter last game although it is a good match up. Bickel moved in because Torts didn’t want the fights this game and when he realized they would be happening he sent Bickel in.

Classy move by Dubinsky stepping out so someone else can do his battles for him. The guy calls out players like Clarkson (who has no problem droppin’ em with anyone) who whooped him. Then, when he has a chance to show what he’s made of, Dubinsky retreats to the blue line to watch. What a joke.
