Not his place. He won’t ever have to worry about being compared to either of the elite players in the league. Jets fans chant GST when his line is on the ice, I’m thinking this may come to an end. It’s sports, don’t take yourself too seriously.

Or maybe he just thinks it’s stupid that they are chanting about something that has no relation to the game….last I checked Crosby plays for the penguins, not the caps or the jets….boo him, taunt him, but keep it relevant to the game your watching…this is coming from a van fan by the way! Just figure he has nothing to do with jets vs caps so cheer your team, boo OV but keep it relevant to what your watching!

Its great that Jets fans are so enthused, but a little silly that they boo another team’s best player every time he touches the puck. Ranger fans would do that to Denis Potvin back in the day and Ranger players from that era will tell you that they hated it because that would simply motivate Denis to take it out on them physically and production-wise. I suspect that top players like Ovi and JT have the same response today. Counterproductive I’d say. Still Glass probably would’ve been wiser to keep that criticism to himself.

I respect Tanner’s opinion, but do disagree with it. Even Ovechkin laughed about it after the game & thought it was great. The only chant I thought wa inappropriate this year is when a small portion of Jets fans chanted “Lu Chic” in the Buffalo game
