Video: Puck hits Setoguchi’s skate and goes into his own goal

Mar 17, 2012, 7:10 PM EDT

Luck hasn’t been on the Minnesota Wild’s side lately. They’ve lost key players like Mikko Koivu and Niklas Backstrom due to injuries and have been in a free fall. Still, they had a 3-1 lead over the Carolina Hurricanes late in the second period of Saturday’s game. And then this happened:

The incident was out of Devin Setoguchi‘s control, but it did prove to be the turning point of this game. The Carolina Hurricanes built off that lucky break and scored three unanswered goals in the third period en route to a 5-3 victory. Minnesota has now lost eight of their last nine games.

That’s a great loss for Minnesota as Carolina is now 3 points ahead of them. At this point, all we want are losses for more ping pong balls to get Nail Yakubov and add him to Granlund and Coyle here next year.
