Video: Rinne just barely knocks away Havlat’s shot

Mar 16, 2012, 9:55 AM EST

Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang weren’t the only big name players returning on Thursday. Martin Havlat rejoined the Sharks after being sidelined for just under three months. Crosby and Letang both got a point in their return and Havlat seemed poised to get on the score sheet too. However, Nashville’s Pekka Rinne had other plans:

Rinne’s efforts were ultimately in vain as San Jose still went onto win 2-1. That was a critical victory for the Sharks, who are just one point behind the eighth place Calgary Flames. The Sharks have played in three fewer games than the Flames, so their fate is largely in their own hands.

Rinne is a STUD. Only a few teams in the league that wouldnt DIE to have him. Luckily, I don’t have too. Go Sabres.
