It’s been a bad enough season for the Montreal Canadiens and while they were valiant in their efforts to come back against Buffalo before losing in overtime, they played the role of a victim to Tyler Ennis.
Ennis’s first of two goals against the Habs turned out to be a highlight reel goal that saw him turn recently returned from injury defenseman Andrei Markov into a traffic cone before crossing up goalie Peter Budaj and ripping a shot by him after he’d already cut in front of him. Let MSG’s Rick Jeanneret tell it to you in only the way he can.

Ennis’ finish was sweet, but Marcus Foligno’s work along the boards at center ice – mostly from on his belly – was Herculean.
It should not go without notice that a goal like this would not have happened without some really gutsy efforts by the youngest Foligno.

Welcome back to active duty, Andrei Markov. You can find your jock in Tyler Ennis’ locker.

Nice goal, to be sure, but to be honest, I’ve seen lots of nicer ones. Just sayin’.
