Aw shucks. I bet Crybaby Crosby will be out with diaper rash before the series starts. And let’s face it. The Penqueers always fade in the playoffs unless their last first round draft pick stays healthy. They would be better off loosing all the rest of this years games so they could pick another #1 draft. At least they would be consistent that way.

I think both teams will see additional cups in the near future. I think this is one of the best rivalries in sports and possibly the best since Derrian Hatcher gave Crosby the business early in his career.

I prefer a team who wins 75% of the time when in the finals as opposed to a team that wins 25% on the big stage,to each his own. I do bet the pens get 5 cups before the flyers get their third. Not hating I just like how our team is set up for the future as opposed to the flyers. 2 solid teams though and a great rivalry. Respect.

Sure I wish the Flyers had more Cups but the difference between 2 and 3 is not very much. If the Pens had 5 or 6 Cups I may be singing a different tune. I will take the team that averages making the conference finals every 2-3 years since they have been in existence to the team that averages missing the plays every 2-3 years since they have been in existence.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect the team the Penguins currently have and think they are a huge Cup threat with or without Crosby but historically beyond the 4 Cup appearances, the franchise has been pretty pathetic. They were a bad team that intentionally lost games so they could draft Lemeiux first overall and they were so bad in the early 2000′s they got the first overall pick to draft Fleury, the second overall pick to get Malkin and they were the worst team before the lockout, won the draft lottery and drafted Crosby first overall. The franchise has more losses than wins in it’s history. They have missed the playoffs more than twice as many times as the Flyers.

Since the Flyers have been in existence they are clearly the better franchise. 1975 is so creative coming from the fan of team that went over 50 years between championships. The Flyers have been to 8 Cup finals and won 2 Cups since their inception. To put that in perspective, the Rangers have won 2 Cups since 1940 and been to the finals 5 times in that span. So the Flyers have made it to the finals three more times than the Rangers since 1940 yet the Rangers have had 28 additional seasons to get to at least 8 Cup finals. Be proud.

Yes, King Henrik is a real playoff stud too. The Rangers have been past the second round once since they last won the Cup. The Flyers have been past the second round six times since then. They also walked all over the Rangers the one time the Rangers managed to get past the second round in 1997. I would say the Rangers blow when it counts but there isn’t enough data to support this claim. I wonder why. Take your five wins so far against the Flyers in the regular season because they mean nothing come April. I would say May and June too but you wouldn’t understand.
