the hybrid icing is to prevent injury, has nothing to do with the trapezoid. there wont be any more whistles than before, do you understand the purpose or procedure related to the hybrid icing at all? goalies arent going to come outside of the trapezoid area to play a puck if its been iced anyway…you ever notice how the goalie will sink into his net and avoid touching the puck when its iced toward him? how will that change without the trapezoid?

Typical American Clown.

The puck over the glass did NOT ruin the game. It eliminated deliberate stoppages in play which slowed down the game. Hybrid icing is an attempt to reduce the serious injuries we have witnessed over the past few years and it will have very little impact on whistles in the game. Maybe you should concentrate on wind surfing, and leave hockey to the grown-ups.

This is a meeting of the GMs, and Burke just happens to be one. My guess is reporters ask him a question and he answers it. Nobody “died and made him king’ but he usually provides a good soundbite or quote.

That being said, I have to disagree with him here. I don’t like the trapezoid and never have. Let the goalie play the puck if he wants to.

The trapezoid is the dumbest thing in the game today. That and the puck over the glass penalty ruin the game. This hybrid icing will only create more whistles which was the argument for the red line. And these people run teams? That’s scary. Get rid of the trapezoid and the hybrid icing bs won’t be needed. These senseless GM’s have the heads up their you know what.
