There’s not a lot in hockey I hate more than no touch icing, if this helps with player safety and yet still maintains the integrity of the play … Im in.

Just something more for coaches to argue about with referees (or in this case, with linesmen). Simple no touch icing has been in use for years in junior hockey in Canada and I haven’t noticed any decrease in intensity. Why adopt a complicated rule when a simple one is at hand – oh yeah, it’s the NHL.
