The Sabres have sung both anthems before home games since they joined the NHL in 1970. That was not the regular singer at the game last night. The reason we get so many Canadians to our games is they can’t get Leaf tickets, we are a better team, and we make a huge markup when we sell our tickets to them.

Cudos to Buffalo for giving a nod to the Canadian fans and singing both anthems even though no Canadian team was playing. A nice gesture.

Sure, the anthem was a little botched but being the good-natured Canadians that some of us are, we’ll give an “aw, whatever” shrug and smile and acknowledge the gesture by Buffalo management. (You can bet that the anthem singer won’t make that mistake again!)

Wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Could have gone very poorly, but she just kept singing which saved her. That second video you posted made me grimace and cringe so hard. Tough video to enjoy when you feel so bad for most of those singers.
