i know why they were whining for it but the injury was away from the ensuing play. if you start blowing the whistle right away, guys will start falling down hurt any time the opposing team gets a scoring chance. the hit was clean, it separated the man from the puck and created a scoring chance. the ref shouldnt negate a good scoring chance because a player is down away from the play.

Likes danphipps comment….also bill clement was calling for a whistle to blow play dead…since it looked like was out cold …he said right after that the hit was clean…

Mike, if you can’t even be assed to check the highlights before writing about a game, please, hand the article off to someone more diligent. They won that game. There are minor factual errors, and then there’s straight-up laziness and amateurism. This is a case of the latter.

They were asking where the whistle was because normally when someone gets their bell rung (aka head shot…whether or not it was intentional the head made contact) the referees will blow the play dead. Penalty or not, there was a player struggling to get up/know where he is.

I think the Flyers won last night…3-2…not lost.

Also, clean hit. Huge, but clean. his head is exposed because he’s pushing the puck up…job of the D there is to separate man from puck. Voracek can’t put himself in that situation if he wants to play long in this league.

voracek got smoked. i havent seen a guy act like that after a hit in a while. he was on his back with his arms and legs in the air like a dog scratching his back on the floor.
