Okay. I just watched the whole Seidenberg/Armstrong/McQuaid incident. I retract my criticism of McQuaid. He did disengage as soon as Seidenberg stepped in. Well, anyways, being the third guy in are the type of penalties the Bruins need to avoid to get out of this funk they are in.

When you need a win, you can’t give up bad penalties. Third man in is as undisciplined as too many men on the ice. The B’s had just scored two quick goals, taken the lead 3-2 and had the momentum. And then Bergeron’s trip gives the Leafs a 5 on 3 and they score quickly to tie. You can rah-rah this and rah-rah that about team and teammates, but taking dumb penalties will sink you in this league and absolutely kill you in the playoffs.

mcquaid wasn’t a bad penalty. he was stepping up for his teammate who last second decided to step up for himself at the last moment. things happen, i’ll take my team sticking up for themselves and getting a penalty any day of the week. its called being a team.

Sucks that the Leafs couldn’t pick one up on the B’s, but this was a much better game from them than the previous fiascos. Sometimes a team just has your number all year long- hell, Carolina swept Boston after all.

Very impressed with the Leafs’ effort- if they do that from here on out, they’re just as able to grab the last playoff spot as anyone.

The Bruins had to have this one. They have not been the same since that whole White House controversey. And they aren’t playing smart. McQuaid took a bad penalty last night, that helped set up a 5 on 3 and a Leafs goal, Almost as bad as Seindenberg’s assist on Gaborik’s goal on Sunday against the Rangers. They have to play more disciplined hockey. It’s one thing to be physical, but no one fears a team that loses every other game they play.

didn’t think it was a 5-4 game. Timmy needs to play better. We don’t need you to be the best goalie in the league but he’s been playing below average for 2 and a half months. worse numbers than bryz

This was far and away the Leafs’ best effort against the Bruins this season. If they approach the remaining games against weaker opponents like they approached this one then playoffs are not out of the question
