Or as another example, Jose Theodore had his last name pronounced “Ho-say” “Tay-oh-dore” during the early part of his career,and he changed it to “Jo-say” “Thee-o-dore” by the time when he was with the Caps. It was very confusing.

Same thing happened with Zidlicky. For a while it was “Zid-licky” and then after the Olympics it has been “Zid-Lichkey”.

This is right up there when players change the pronunciations of their names midway through their careers. When Langkow played for the Flyers it was Lang-cow, but at some point between then and now with the Flames he change the pronunciation to Lang-koh. I forget the specific player’s name, but I remember on a Flyers broadcast they were saying how a player on the other team had his last name pronounced differently than how his brother was asking for his to be done. Too funny.
