If Kulemin figures his game out and/or we add a solid goalscoring winger in the offseason his point production won’t be a problem. The Leafs overpaid but, looking at the list the guy below posted, I wouldn’t say by too much.

In seriousness, this is why Burkie should’ve gone all-in on the rebuild. Now that the team is in playoff contention for the first five months of the year they can’t turn back and have to cave to the demands of the pretty good players that got them where they are – but won’t get them to the playoffs on a regular basis.

First Grabovski, then next year Lupul and MacArthur, then Kessel and Phaneuf. Leafs fans had better hope Burke’s drafting and development record improves substantially if he’s going to re-sign those players and still fill out a decent NHL roster..

Overpaid pretty heftily there. He’s a good centre, no question, but the point production just isn’t there. He’d be lucky to crack sixty this season. 4.5 I’d have taken, but 5.5? He’s not quite that good.
