Video: Erik Gudbranson levels Blake Wheeler

Mar 2, 2012, 9:48 AM EST

In a 7-0 blowout, Erik Gudbranson big hit on Winnipeg’s Blake Wheeler might have been the high point for Florida.

Of course, it’s safe to say that Wheeler got the last laugh. While Gudbranson was forced to try and stop a 5-on-1 in vain and ultimately finished the game with a minus-four rating, Wheeler went on to score a goal and record an assist in the third period.

Does Milbury want a suspension for this too?

And Wheeler didn’t sook afterwards, he knew he didn’t do himself any favors. I think everyone who has played hockey has made the mistake assuming the dman is going to chase that puck. And when you take that lil jump step to try and get by the defenceman and leave your feet for that split second. He has you, and the result is above in the video
