Its not just the lack of Backstrome. Its not just Ovi’s off year. Its not just Green being hurt for a long time. Its not even a combination of these things… its a complete lack of cohesion and utterly sloppy play from the Caps as a whole. No one person is really to blame for this. They need a complete reworking with perhaps some new players, new coach, and a new system that actually fits the play style of the players on the team.

Oh, and a better goalie would do wonders… not to lay all the blame on the Caps goalies either, but a top notch goalie can certainly help keep your team in a game like the one last night.

I brought my whole family to see their first live hockey game. The “Red” couldn’t even muster a single goal so my kid could see the Verizon Center light up. Hideous performance in their own building against a team that played the night before. I don’t know what’s wrong with this team, but it goes deep.
