I watched some of that game on fast forward. In a battle for top spot in the best hockey league in the world, that’s kinda damning. Not good enough.

I like competitive and physical hockey, but I like skilled hockey too. When the best teams from the best league meet, we should be seeing both.

Not ragging on St Louis – they were playing a tough road game on a back-to-back, and they were playing to win. I just think the league needs to re-commit to limiting interference.

Detroit and St. Louis seem to complete the picture for me. Nashville’s not quite believeable for me, though they’re damn close, and likewise with Pittsburgh. Flyers fans, get a real goalie and you’ll be favourites overnight, but until that happens… long shot.
