The Capitals might be driving their owner insane

Feb 29, 2012, 1:36 PM EDT

From the official website of Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis:

Now before we go speculating that Washington’s play has driven Leonsis to the brink of madness (next picture: Ted wearing Kleenex box slippers), there is a back story here:

My friend Seth Hurwitz gave me a Caps poncho that he bought in Mexico – it is so ugly it is beautiful. He insisted I wear it to rally the team! I did – and boom – we get the two points!

Thank you Seth! Rally Poncho!

Upon learning of Leonsis’ lucky poncho, Terry Pegula demanded a Sabres sombrero.

No, just the same one with over a dozen different names. Why he’s still tolerated by the admins is beyond me, but at least watching him make an ass out of himself is amusing in its own way.

It’ll take more than bad fashion sense to save the Capitals now. Best light some incense and sacrifice a goat to the capricious god that governs Alexander Ovechkin’s effort level.

currently in the 8th playoff spot with 2 games in hand over the 9th seed. Savings isnt the right word to describe this team. Of course its far from over but the Capitals just need to continue to play hard like they did the last 3 games. Last game was the first never say die mentality ive seen from them probably all season. Fight until the end and maybe you can win games you should have lost. The video of Capuano saying “unbelievable” after the tying goal with 26 seconds left was priceless.

put a better product on the ice and don’t waste my time with gimmicky public relations ploys such as this. your team is a laughingstock at the moment, embroiled in controversy and drama surrounding your head coach. fix that issue before posting this ridiculous nonsense
