That is the crux of this whole conversation, IMO. The hit was a little cheap, Emelin was upset that he got hit, but not over the line suspendable. Emelin and Subban have got to realize that what makes them such dislikable players is that if you are going to be cheap you MUST answer the bell when another player takes offence to your hit. Say what you want about some other rats, Marchand, Lapierre, etc, but at least they will throw down and defend themselves and their actions.

Sounds like a bunch of crying hab fans. If any player threw a hit like that in any league, he better be on his toes. Has everyone got used to this nhl lite? Theres maybe a few players in the game today that wouldve lasted 15 yrs ago. And none play for the habs

How hilarious is it that Subban was ‘sticking up’ for Emelin? Hey Malone, pick your turtle…and how ironic that the Habs have a player that “…no longer fights…”. Now, doesnt’ that just figure. Seems most of the roster may have had their “…faces smashed in and rebuilt with metal plates”. In any case, Malone had better watch himself as PK is sure to spit in his general direction at their next meeting.

Malone made a pretty cheap play when he tripped a Habs player at 0:26 of that video. Wonder if that had anything to do with it?

Look, it’s very simple… Malone checked Emelin cleanly into the boards earlier, just after Emelin released the puck, so soon afterward Emelin crushes Malone into the ice as retaliation for the hit. True, it wasn’t blindside. The problem is Malone wasn’t close to the puck at the time or even recently, so he wasn’t expecting the interference hit. If you want to get even, fine, but do it when the guy has or just had the puck. It was the equivalent of a sucker punch.

Cuz he’s a Hab, Emelin is clearly garbage. But as a Bruins fan I see NOTHING wrong with that hit on Malone. Just wish he had the stones to take on Malone. Even if he gets whupped he’d be a lot more respected in a lot of people’s eyes.

I’m a Bruins fan, and I say this hit wasn’t cheap or blindside. And if you’re going to talk about unnecessary hits, I’d say a large number of clean hits aren’t “necessary”.

Really HAB fans? If Lucic or Marchy did the same thing it would be classless. Oh they have a history, and I guess Emelin doesn’t? I really love how the spinning of hypocrisy works. You would think that after Chara took a puck to the face that required 17 stitches, and HAB fans cheered they would never have the audacity to call any other group classless. This is no different, Emelin should not put himself in a position to get the crap kicked out of him. It was an unnecessary hit at the least. That would lead to a fight in every league I played in.
