I love the hawks. But Chicago fans could learn a thing or two from the royals fans in baseball and never give up hope on the team you love. We love them because they are the hawks, and that’s why we stick by them and believe in them even against the odds. It wasn’t long ago that they were sitting pretty as a top 3 seed.

I would love for the Blackhawks to make a deep run this year.

I would also love to not shorten Toews’ career any more (and it likely has been shortened) just in the hopes of making it to the second round this year.

Crawford just doesn’t have it this year. The D in front of him hasn’t been very consistent, and they just aren’t holding the puck like they have in the past. Any one of these can’t be overcome. All three? Eight ball says outlook not so good.

The rest of the core hasn’t stepped up to fill the giant hole Toews’ absence hasn’t created. And they’re also dressing five rookies now.

Shut Toews down for the year and take whatever you can get.

What do you want from me? They’re at the bottom of the league in penalty kill and power play. They’re at the bottom of the league in goals against. They’re at the bottom of the league in every meaningful goalie metric. They can’t win on the road. They’re 4-12-1 over their last 16 games. Their best player and #3 defenseman have concussions. When they play defense, they can’t score. When they score, they can’t play defense. Those are issues, and they’re real. It’s not like I’m reacting to a two-game skid.

Wow you sound like a someone who quits pretty easy… shame you’re from Chicago. I’m not saying to send Toews out there if he has a concussion but to throw the season away because of an injury is sounds like a cop out. You should take out a quote from Vince Lambardi i’m sure it speaks volumes about you “Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit.”

For those who don’t live in Chicago and might not have heard this, Toews was loopy enough a week or so ago to drive his Benz into a support beam for the L track. He didn’t graze it or sideswipe it, he plowed right into it. That’s probably not a good sign for the remaining 18 games. The Hawks have zero chance of winning the Cup this year, so why risk turning him into Sidney Crosby? Season is over anyway. The Hawks can’t win on the road, stink on the kill, stink worse with the man advantage, have horrid goaltending, don’t defend, aren’t physical and insist on turning the puck over as often as possible. Toews can’t fix all that.
