Yes the Leafs are in a constant spotlight. Let’s look for a moment at another team that lives in such a place: The baseball team we love to hate, the NY Yankees. Imagine them going 45 years without even playing in a World Series. No, I can’t either. They cope with the pressure and most years are contenders.

You should feel bad for us Canadians that live West of Toronto. We get to hear about the Leafs non stop if they’re winning (how they are the greatest team ever) and if they are losing (how they are the greatest team ever, but just need to improve/change their coach, GM, goal-tending, forwards, defense, farm system, etc.)

Funny, I live in Vancouver, yet we hear more about Toronto’s highs and lows than our own team most times (except for the Team 1040).

It’s enough with this negative stuff …

Toronto and it’s fine fans are “good people” no doubt, but the damage is done and so there comes time when you have to let go of your fallen comrade and instead press on with the advance … and “now” friends is such a time !

Figuratively speaking, the Vancouver Canucks are currently entrenched upon good “high” ground, smug in their well-fortified position and feeling confident about their overall prospects. Well then, we sure have some news for them ! We LA Kings are now massing for a “massive” assault against these fools and we’re going in with nothing less than victory as our goal ! Join us friend, as this is going to be the “ride of a lifetime” !

maybe if the fans eased up a little bit the team would play better. is it possible that the team plays poorly because of all the pressure, and that the fans intensify the pressure to win during slumps like this? every single member of the organization has to feel like they’re a moment away from losing their job, and that can’t possibly be an environment that sets anyone up for success…
