Exactly. He came in with basically an AHL roster to work with and has turned it into a team that after 7 years finally looks like it’s heading in the right direction.

The media has always hated Burke because he doesn’t allow them to control the moves he makes like previous GMs have. I have absolutely no problem with how he’s running things. This is a young team that has tons of potential and there’s no need to start tearing it down just because they don’t make the playoffs this year.

Looks like the media is finally getting tired of this BS’er. I think some of the Leaf fan base is as well. I guess “Burkie” isn’t as tough as her pretends to be. If you can’t handle the heat, then you need to quit.

Not a Maple Leafs fan, but I think the Toronto meida should shut their yappers since the Leafs are relevant for the first time since ’93-94. It may take another year or two, but I think Burke has the team on the right track.

I really hate the Toronto media. What is their problem with what Burke said? It’s not like he was turning down reasonable offers at the deadline because he felt like it. The right offers obviously just never came along, which is true of most other teams if you look at how many minor deals there were.
