Our Defense has been terrible for the last couples year, we need to solidify our d corps, and as of today, Yzerman has done a great job of doing that!. remember we have 2- 1st round picks, 4- 2nd round pick thats 6 picks in the top 60. (if florida gives decides to give up there 2nd rounder this season) yes ashton might come back to bite us, but Keith Aulie has much more upside.

The 28th pick at best for a solid D with decent scoring presence. Yzerman’s clearly stocking up on D, but he HAD a good guy in Quincey, and one probably a little better than the guys he’s gotten since.

I was looking forward to Ashton making the jump to the NHL next year and developing into the big forward the Bolts need.

I don’t know enough about Aulie, but there is no doubt that the Lightning have needed to address the glaringly deficient ‘D’. Picking up 3 defensement today, Yzerman is clearly focusing on it
