I’m not convinced that Parenteau is one-hit wonder. Last year he had 20 G & 33 A.With 20 games left, he’s at 15 G and 43 A. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that he’s arrived and will continue to be a threat for many years. Oh, and I’m a Ranger fan so I’ve had the opportunity to see him play a few times. As a player for a division rival, he’s been a thorn in the team’s side for the last two seasons. He’s a guy that I think the Rangers wish they hadn’t let go.

Given his preference for not negotiating now, it is at least wise to listen to offers. That said I hope he stays on the island with us and I also hope that they don’t break the bank keeping him because as much as I have always liked him, His production in this contract year is a more than normal. Perhaps a short term deal with decent cash?

They have been horrendous with giving talented players a chance over prospects. I.E. Spezza, Luongo, Chara, etc…The list of Islanders draft picks is unreal, it was a who’s who of NHL all stars for a while

What makes PA that much more valuable is that he has been productive even when NOT playing on JT’s line.

You play well and Garth worries that he cannot sign you and also be able to sign other prospects in the future given your agent’s unreasonable demands and he considers trading you for a healthy return.

Interesting. Could it be that PA is one hit wonder or that he is the real deal and the Islanders want to stock pile for the future? I’m sure teams will give up some valuable assets for his services.
