And what team doesnt get away with an occasional cheap hit? Cooke ended Savards career and didnt get suspended, Sesito wasnt suspended for head hunting Horton, and now Turris with Corvo. Like any team they benefit and suffer from the uneven punishments from the league. They have had plenty of suspensions this year alone Boychuk, Lucic, Marchand, etc.

First – although the hit was cheap, it’s not as bad as other hits from behind this season. Turris got a penalty but Boston didn’t capitalize. Second – Corvo announcing that he wants to fight is likely to earn him an instigator penalty. Under the rules a player can be given an instigator if they annouce they are going to seek revenge for something that happend in a previous game. That means a 2-minute man advantage for Ottawa, and a game misconduct for Corvo. Not very bright. Third – just talking about fighting means coaches are likely to bring the goons out of the press box and dress them for the game, meaning senseless violence and less real hockey being played.

What are you going to do (spin) when the next cheap shot is delivered by a Bruin? And there is no doubt that there will be another.

How can you call the Bruins whiners when they consistently stand up for one another and even Boychuk, Claude and everyone else freely admitted the Neil hit was a clean hit?? I’d still be pissed as Neil was lining him up from the twenty feet away in virtual garbage time of the game but it is hockey and it was legal.

bensawesomeness needs a lesson on the playground rules – yes you can hit but when you cross the line you need to be accountable. Can’t have it both ways or you will see a lot more players lost to concussions and cheap shots.

I agree with you completely and I have been a B’s fan all my life. While Jack can call a good game, his favoritism goes way overboard. It gets really tiresome . If only the TV broadcast and the radio broadcast could be synched, I would watch the game and listen to dave gaucher on the radio. he is far better.

Also, Joe, I like your scrapper spirit, but you definitely shouldn’t play with headaches, and if you did then you shouldn’t invite a guy to bounce his fist off you already shaken dome.
